    ABOUT THE POP UPS: Discover the work of local artists and designers from Akin Collective Dufferin Studios and Pixel & Bristle Design Market as they set up shop at Drake One Fifty.

    Akin Collective is a Toronto-based arts organization that provides affordable studio space as well as arts-based programming through it's sister non-profit organization, Akin Projects. Their studios provide a working environment that maintains a friendly and inspiring atmosphere where people can work on creative endeavours and entrepreneurial undertakings of all kinds. They build community through monthly art critiques, workshops, open studio events, gallery tours, exhibitions, as well as various other art projects.

    Jessica Thalmann is an artist, curator and writer currently based in Toronto and New York City. She received a Master of Fine Arts in Advanced Photographic Studies from ICP-Bard College and a BFA in Visual Arts from York University. She has worked at the Doris McCarthy Gallery, Toronto International Film Festival, C Magazine, the Art Gallery of York University and Yossi Milo Gallery.
